Article: A nod to minimalism, timeless staples, and the thrill of the perfect find.

A nod to minimalism, timeless staples, and the thrill of the perfect find.

Like many of you, I recently fell down the rabbit hole of John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in the widely talked about Love Story. And I have to say, it only deepened my appreciation for the quiet power of 90s minimalism.

Carolyn embodied a kind of effortless style that didn’t need explanation. Clean lines, neutral palettes, and an ease that felt both intentional and completely undone at the same time. Her style spoke before she ever had to.

As Rachel Zoe famously said, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” Fashion is what you buy. Style is what you do with it.

Speaking of Rachel, I’ve watched The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills for years, but I’ve never enjoyed it more than watching her approach to styling. What I love most is seeing her dig through luxury consignment like a true expert. You can feel her admiration for the designers, the history, the craftsmanship. The way she describes each piece makes it feel alive. Watching her discover a rare Oscar de la Renta moment is, for me, must-see TV.

That thrill of the find is something I’ve carried with me my entire adult life. Shopping designer consignment isn’t just a habit, it’s a passion. There’s nothing quite like uncovering something extraordinary at an unexpected price. Finding a Tom Ford piece that once retailed for $12,000 for a fraction of that feels like winning the lottery.

As we transition our closets into Spring and Summer, I always come back to a few essentials every wardrobe should have:

  • A crisp white button-down
  • Nude pumps
  • A high-quality white t-shirt (this is worth the investment. Think The Row)
  • A great blazer that works with denim or a skirt
  • Black sandals
  • A scarf or two for those finishing touches

And of course, every woman needs the perfect little black dress. This year marks 100 years of the LBD, thanks to Coco Chanel. A piece that has truly stood the test of time.

At the end of the day, your closet should reflect you. Dress with intention. Dress for the day you want to have.

When you feel good in what you’re wearing, it shows. Confidence, ease, happiness, it all follows.

And really, isn’t that what we’re all after?

Style doesn’t have to be expensive. Let us show you.

At The Re-Find Designer, our favorite thing to do is style you.

Long live the label,

Kristen
