My Favorite Investment Handbags (And Why They’re Totally Worth It)
If you are anything like me, it takes me a while to find the perfect handbag. I am not loyal to one designer, I just want the bag to fit my personality, my mood and well, my wallet, keys, lipstick, etc. Over the years, I have become a bit of a handbag collector. So I wanted to put out into the universe my favorite investment-worthy handbags and why they rank up there:
- Christian Dior’s Lady Dior – this iconic handbag was released in 1994 and was designed specifically for the late Princess Diana. I just saw a video the other day about the 2026 version that is coming out and it had so many flashbacks of Lady Diana carrying versions of this bag. It seemed she owned every color.
- Chanel’s Double Flap Bag – created in 1955 and still alive every year with a new version, this handbag will hold her value and would be an excellent addition to any collection. I lucked into a single flap version a few years ago, it’s a 1994-96 and that is the year that Karl Lagerfield used a two-inch 24k gold CC logo and chain strap. I wouldn’t sell her for any amount of money. She will be with me at my funeral.
- Hermes Constance – this one was created in 1959 and to this day it is still one of the brands most iconic handbags. Not as well known as the Kelly or the Birkin, this little beauty is smaller and way handier than those others. Not to mention, Hermes holds its value.
- Louis Vuitton’s Drawstring Bucket Bag – Born in 1932 the LV drawstring bucket bag was commissioned by a champagne producer to hold and protect five champagne bottles. To this day it is still a great piece to add to your collection. Louis Vuitton perfects this bag just about every year.
- The Fendi Baguette – Silvia Fendi, the granddaughter of the founders, conceived the idea of the baguette and under the artistic directorship of Karl Lagerfeld, the iconic Fendi Baguette came to life in the Winter Show of 1997. Made famous by Carrie Bradshaw and the cast of SATC, the Fendi Baguette became a household name for Fashionistas and it is made and re-made every year with new and innovative colors and materials. Makes it easy to find one that fits your style.
- Chloe Woody - This embroidered logo tote is roomy and smart and is versatile for work or weekends. This little beauty is great for casual outings or traveling. For me, it’s the best for bag for Sunday Brunch with the gal pals.
- Celine Triomphe – Celine’s signature style is made from the highest quality leather and boasts the Triomphe logo. Carrying this bag certainly pushes you wholly into the fashionista realm. Carrying this bag down the street in NYC will get you a few nods from fellow fashionistas. IYKYK
- Gucci Horsebit 1955 – Created in 1955, this handbag is still one of the House’s most popular styles and boasts the horsebit hardware that has become iconic and recognized as a Gucci staple.
